Izotope has just released a new sample-based synthesizer called IRIS and it’s a really fun and intuitive piece of software that can yield some really interesting sonic results in a short period of time.  The demo kept me up all night after I downloaded it.  I’m usually more of a “tweak-the-presets” kind of guy when it comes to these things, but it’s so much fun to throw your own samples into IRIS to create some new and surprising material.  I’ve put together a little demo of a few of the presets I’ve created with my own samples.  This is only a small sampling of what I managed to create in a matter of a couple hours.  Enjoy!

I’ve just released my original soundtrack for Vertigo Gaming’s Neptune Gasoline.  Unfortunately, there is no game to go along with the music as of yet.  David had to put this project on the sidelines to concentrate on other things.  You can read more about it on his blog if you’re interested in all the nitty gritty details of his decision to shelve it.  Maybe someday he’ll return to it, but for now you’ll just have to put on this soundtrack and imagine what it might be like.

My original soundtrack for Azkend 2 is now available on Bandcamp!  I’m going way out on a limb here and actually setting a price for this one.  There are still a few short tracks you can download for free from the album though.  You can listen to the entire album online, but I recommend downloading it so it can be the epic soundtrack to your life for the rest of the week.

Azkend 2 will be released on PC, Mac and iOS on March 14th.  I created all the original music for the game and there will be a soundtrack available on my Bandcamp page on the 14th as well.  10tons, the developers of the game, are some of the classiest around and they always do a bang-up job.

Check out this amazing video of the northern lights display in Norway.  The video is shot by Christian Mülhauser and uses a track of mine called Path of Stars (for the first 2 minutes of the video).  He says it was so cold that his camera lenses were freezing after an hour of shooting.  So sit back and enjoy his efforts!
